In our weekly children’s ministry lessons, we help children ages 2-10 years old learn the Word of God through many different creative and interactive outlets. We focus on Scripture as we engage young minds through storytelling, arts and crafts, songs, and prayer. Children are taught how each story and verse in the Bible points to Jesus, and how our own life stories are also part of the “great rescue story.” Our main resource for this season is The Jesus Storybook Bible, but we have also used The Gospel Project in the past.

Our Teachers

We love our teachers and assistants and are so thankful to God for them. One of the reasons why we have Pathfinders when we do is in recognition of our teachers’ and assistants spiritual needs - with many of our teachers being parents too.

All of our teachers are members of CIC, holding to our Statement of Faith and to the accountability that we have embedded within membership. Each teacher and assistant is also required to complete a Children’s Ministry Screening Questionnaire.

CIC also has its own Child Protection Policy, which can be found here.

WELCOME TO PATHFINDERS!

Here at Crossroad International Church we are family. And like any family, we are all different ages. What unites us is our love in joyfully worshipping our God together. That is why we have Pathfinders, because we love our kids. Whether you want to enroll your kids in one of our age related Bible classes or you would prefer to have your children in with you throughout the whole service, there are plenty of resources for you to make use of.

Our aim through Pathfinders, is to serve parents and their children. Our key verses are from Deuteronomy 6:6-7: “And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”

We believe that the greatest Christian ministry to our children is found within the context of the family and home –and that has shaped the foundation of our thinking in how CIC does Children’s Ministry.

Corporate Worship The children stay in the main service during times of corporate worship through music, song, the reading of Scripture and prayer. The intent is that children can be with their families and worship God together. Children are a part of this wonderful covenant community of believers and we want them to be able to share in the joy and privilege or worshipping as families and as one big family. We want kids to be able to ask about what words meant in songs, what did the person praying mean when they said something, what did that Bible reading mean? We want our children to see the authenticity of our worship.

Serving ParentsHaving the opportunity to listen to sermons and to have your full focus on listening to God’s Word is part of healthy Christian living. For tired parents who are constantly giving out to their children, we want them to be refreshed and encouraged spiritually so that they can keep on bringing up their children in reverential fear of God. We see Pathfinders as a means to help parents in fulfilling Deuteronomy 6:7, not replacing it.

Serving ChildrenThere is a weekly Bible class tailored to each age range. For the older kids, alternate weeks are spent in the main service with our prayerful desire that they continue in worshipping God through the hearing of God’s Word. We hope that this will allow great discussions at home about the sermon, what it means for them, what was difficult to understand, how it’s applied. Again, it’s Deuteronomy 6:7 in action.
